Contactor 1440103 — What It Does
This contactor makes and breaks the high-current path that feeds starter and auxiliary circuits on Caterpillar earthmoving machines. Built to the original contact gap and coil pull-in characteristic, it restores a clean, reliable switch so voltage drop and arcing stay under control.

When to Replace
Replace when the contacts show deep pitting or fused tips, when the coil no longer pulls in crisply, or when the housing shows tracking or burn marks. Failing contacts cause intermittent starts and voltage loss to critical loads.
Fitting Notes
- De-energise the circuit before touching terminals.
- Match terminal torque and ensure the coil polarity is respected.
- Re-check pull-in and drop-out after mounting.
- Keep the cover sealed to keep dust out of the arc chamber.
