Overview
Turbocharger 3960404-3960454, 3960404, 3960454 is a commonly used spare part in construction machinery. We can supply all the original and replacement part numbers listed below, in stock or available on order — welcome to enquire by part number.
Applicable Models & Applications
This turbocharger is applied to Cummins diesel engines where intake boost is required to meet power and exhaust targets; correct exhaust manifold, oil feed and A/R matching are assumed. Suitable for the corresponding machine model and configuration — please verify the machine model, serial number and part number match before ordering.
Maintenance & Replacement
Service the air cleaner and replace it on schedule; always let an engine idle briefly before shutdown so the turbo spins down on clean oil, and watch shaft play and oil consumption at service intervals. Early signs it may need attention: A high-pitched whistle or howl under boost that was not there before; Blue or black smoke combined with rising oil consumption points to worn seals or a scored shaft; Restricted performance and high exhaust temperature with a clean air filter often trace back to a failing turbo.
Installation Essentials
Work on a clean machine with the engine off and the relevant system drained or depressurised as required, and confirm the part number against your machine model and serial number before ordering. Check the oil supply line isn't kinked or blocked before fitting the new unit. After installation, run the machine and check for leaks, unusual noise or abnormal travel before returning it to service, and retighten where the manual calls for it after the first hours of operation.
